Take a shift
Most shifts are four hours. You do not need to know anything about livestock for the majority of them — you need to show up and be willing to be told what to do.
Concessions
Cooking, serving, and running the register. Our biggest need and the easiest job to learn.
Check-in & weigh-in
Checking papers, running the scale, and recording weights. Early start — 6:00 AM both days.
Ring & gates
Moving classes in and out on time. Best job in the house if you like watching the show.
Awards table
Sorting ribbons, buckles, and banners, and getting them to the ring before the class ends.
Parking & gate
Directing trailers, which is the single most useful thing anyone does all weekend.
Setup & clean-up
Panels, pens, tables, and the Saturday night tear-down. Many hands, short night.
Under 18?Students earn chapter service hours for show work. See your ag science teacher to have hours recorded.
Not able to work a shift?
Sponsoring is the other way to hold this show up. Sponsorships pay for the belt buckles and premium awards, and they start at $200.
